Steel Serbia, d.o.o. with our plants in Smederevo, Šabac and Kučevo is a well-known producer of steel and high-quality hot rolled and cold rolled products and tin plates. U. S. Steel Serbia possesses a highly-qualified and professionally skilled work force. Investing in development of human resources is one of the priorities of top management. Product Quality is the primary focus in all parts of production process in U. S. Steel Serbia d.o.o. 
Thanks to continuous improvements in our business drivers, first in safety of work and industrial hygiene of the employees, improvements in environmental domain, as well as in plants and equipment, increasing the production, improving the quality of products and services which we supply to our customers, U. S. Steel Serbia is a leader in production of iron and steel in this region for five years of operation in Serbia. Product quality is one of the key drivers in United States Steel Corporation as well as in U. S. Steel Serbia. Our aim is to produce high-quality steel according to international standards and to continuously improve all areas of operation. U. S. Steel Serbia is certified by certification body SGS according to:
Smederevo Steel Works has received a Quality Management System Certificate in December 1999 and the Tin Mill in Šabac in November 1998. U. S. Steel Serbia integrated these two Quality Management Systems into one in May 2005. A re-certification according to ISO 9001:2000 was performed in March 2007 and the certificate is valid till April 2010. HACCP certificate which our Šabac plant received in April 2005, guarantees that our products for production of food packaging meet the highest standards set by the food industry. In 2008, U. S. Steel Serbia acquired a Certificate for ISO/TS 16949:2002 Automotive Industry Standard, after almost 2 years of hard work by QMS team and employees throughout the plant. Certificate is issued by an authorized Certification house SGS from Switzerland, and the certificate is valid from 19th of December 2008 to 18th of December 2011. Beside the quality certificate U. S. Steel Serbia possesses following product certificates:
U. S. Steel Serbia – the best exporter from Serbia The production in U. S. Steel Serbia is growing day by day, month by month. High-quality products of our Company are sold partly in domestic Serbian market, and are also shipped to almost 60 countries worldwide. All employees of U. S. Steel Serbia are devoted to such production and our objectives. U. S. Steel Serbia was given a SIEPA (Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency) award in year 2005 as the best Serbian exporter for year 2005. Also, this position is held in 2006 and 2007. Continuous Improvement Process By adopting Quality Policy, U. S. Steel Serbia confirmed its intention to be a leader in production and shipment of high-quality products and continuously improve. In U. S. Steel Serbia, continuously improvement is being implemented through trainings of employees, using the experience – best practices in the Company and continuously improvement process. Numerous teams for continuous improvement – CI teams in various units of the Company are focusing on improvements in safety, working environment, quality of products, satisfaction of the customer requirements, production cost reduction and productivity rising. |
