Events INVESTMENT ROAD SHOW NOVEMBER, 2004 In November, 2004, officials of the Economic Development Center led a team of government and business representatives on a “road show” tour of four U. S. cities to promote North American investment in Serbia. The group hosted a series of investment round tables in New York, Cleveland and Chicago presenting the case for Serbian investment to more than 50 companies. Representatives of the group also traveled to meetings in Detroit with officials of General Motors Corporation and Ford Motor Company. INVESTMENT ROAD SHOW JUNE, 2005 Representatives of U. S. Steel Serbia – EDC organized round tables in Milan and London on possible investing in Serbia. The Italy round table was attended by 34 companies and 32 of them were present in London. The most attendees were from banking, financial, trade, service and processing sectors. On this occasion, on June 17 EDC also organized a reception in the Embassy of Serbia and Montenegro in London. Together with EDC team were representatives of Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency – SIEPA, Belgrade Stockmarket, Raiffeisenbank, Deloitte, Harrison Solicitors, Sfir Group and B.A.T. INVESTMENT ROAD SHOW One of the numerous functions assigned to our organization is investment promotion. Without tendency to create unrealistic picture about Serbia or its economy EDC is creating programs through which investors can learn about Serbia, its investment climate and prospective. Investment Road Shows, Conferences and Round tables are promotional tools that will offer to investors and other interested parties unique opportunity to discuss not only the facts and information that have been brought to the event but all other issues that may be of their concern. Participants Participants - from the organizer's point of view are experts of international reputation that already operate in Serbia, on banking, law, finance, tax and administration. Besides business service support EDC tends to bring representatives from existing foreign investors, domestic companies, government and its ministries and agencies. Advantages These events may be of a great value to investors as they give them crucial advantage of being first-to-know on investment opportunities and latest developments in the country regarding economy, legislation and all other reforms and changes that are undergoing at a fast pace. Although Road Shows, Conferences and Round Tables may sound like tailored only to investors' needs they are also perfect opportunity to promote other companies that are in business service support industry, analysis and research or in sector relevant to investors and their industries. In addition to this, domestic companies may find these events useful in finding partners and presenting their own programs and developmental plans that include and give enough room to foreign partners.
