English \| Srpski PODRŠKA SINOVIMA I ĆERKAMA ZAPOSLENIH U U. S. STEEL SERBIA OVE GODINE VIŠE STIPENDIJA Pozivamo sve sinove i ćerke naših zaposlenih u U. S. Steel Serbia, da se prijave na Konkurs za stipendije „Sinovi i Kćerke U. S. Steel Serbia“ u školskoj 2008/ 2009. godini Kompanija U. S. Steel Serbia je prošle godine prvi put dodelila stipendije „Sinovi i Kćerke U. S. Steel Serbia” na ceremoniji koja je održana 22. septembra u renoviranoj Univerzitetskoj biblioteci „Svetozar Marković“ u Beogradu. Gospodin Džon Gudiš, izvršni potpredsednik i glavni direktor za proizvodnju U. S. Steel korporacije uručio je tom prilikom stipendije i ugovore Branislavi Milinković, studentu Elektrotehničkog fakulteta iz Šapca, čiji otac, Slobodan Milinković radi u Belim limovima i Mikici Laziću iz Smedereva, studentu Tehnološko-metalurškog fakulteta u Beogradu, sinu Radice Lazić. Ove godine u školskoj 2008/2009, U. S. Steel Serbia će dati čak ŠEST STIPENDIJA U IZNOSU OD 1 000 EVRA NA GODIŠNJEM NIVOU sinovima i kćerkama zaposlenih u kompaniji. Dodeljujući ove stipendije, kompanija želi da pomogne porodicama zaposlenih u U. S. Steel Serbia tako što će im olakšati ne mali teret troškova obrazovanja njihove dece (bilo da je reč o biološkoj deci, pastorcima, zakonski usvojenoj deci ili štićenicima). Svako od sinova ili kćerki aktivno zaposlenih u U. S. Steel Serbia, bez obzira na funkciju i radno mesto njihovih roditelja u Kompaniji, može da konkuriše za stipendiju i to bez obzira na godinu studija. Ove godine mogu da konkurišu i studenti završnih godina, što je novina u nasem programu stipendija. Prioritet će imati studenti tehničkih fakulteta: Tehnološko-metalurškog, Elektrotehničkog i Mašinskog fakulteta kao i studenti Ekonomskog i Pravnog fakulteta, ali to ne znači da studenti ostalih fakulteta treba da odustanu od prijave. Naprotiv, želimo da sve dobre studente ohrabrimo da konkurišu za stipendije „U. S. Steel Serbia – sinovi i kćerke“. Konkurs se zvanično otvara 20. maja i prijavljivanja traje do 15. jula 2008. godine. Prijave, koje budu dostavljene posle 15. jula, neće se uzimati u razmatranje. Prijavni list je dostupan na Internetu U. S. Steel Serbia, kao i na intranet stranici Sektora za odnose s javnošću, a moći će da se uzme i kod sekretarice sektora Pravni i opšti poslovi, hodnik V, kancelarija broj 13 – zgrada Dinastije. Osim prijave, kandidati moraju da dostave uverenje sa svog fakulteta da su redovni studenti i koji prosek ocena imaju. Uverenje mora da bude i prevedeno na engleski jezik i overeno pečatom fakulteta. Studenti koji su osvojili nagrade, trebalo bi da dostave njihove kopije, a budući akademci – diplomu srednje škole. Popunjene prijave treba poslati na ime Renee Shaffer, kancelarija V15, zgrada Dinastije, ili na e-mail adresu koja glasi: rmshaffer@cs.uss.com Sve prijave koje pristignu na konkurs u naznačenom vremenu biće predate komisiji Beogradskog univerziteta, koja je formirana prošle godine, a koja će na osnovu kriterijuma izabrati dobitnike naše stipendije. Svečana dodela stipendija biće opet u prostoru Univerzitetske biblioteke u Beogradu, a imena dobitnika stipendije biće saopštena 15. septembra. Ukoliko pak, stipendista izgubi godinu ili pravo na redovno studiranje, ili ukoliko ga isključe sa fakulteta zbog akademskih ili disciplinskih razloga – stipendija će biti ukinuta. Kako se stipendije dodeljuju na godišnjem nivou, ako neko sledeće godine želi da dobije stipendiju, moraće ponovo da konkuriše. To što će neko, na primer, zaslužiti stipendiju u ovoj godini ne znači da će automatski imati prednost sledeće godine. Stipendija svake godine mora da se zasluži i svi imaju jednaka prava pri svakom postupku konkurisanja. U U. S. Steel Corporation u Americi postoji tradicija davanja stipendija sinovima i kćerkama zaposlenih na kraju srednje škole od 1995. godine, a u U. S. Steel Košice stipendije su ustanovljene 2004. godine, dok je u U. S. Steel Serbia ova lepa praksa ustanovljena prošle, 2007 godine. Svim zainteresovanima za program dodele stipendija, želimo da poručimo da to shvate kao mogućnost da usavrše svoje obrazovanje. U. S. Steel Serbia je društveno odgovoran član zajednice u kojoj živi, a ovo je samo još jedan korak napred u pružanju podrške obrazovanju mladih u Srbiji! Srećno, Vaš U. S. Steel Serbia APLIKACIJA PROVIDING SUPORT TO SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF U. S. STEEL SERBIA EMPLOYEES We invite all sons and daughters of our employees to apply for the U. S. Steel Serbia Scholarship program “U. S. Steel Serbia sons and daughters” in school year 2008/2009 Last year, U. S. Steel Serbia d.o.o. awarded its first Sons and Daughters Scholarship in a ceremony held on September 22, at the reconstructed University Library “Svetozar Markovic” in Belgrade. Mr. John Goodish, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of United States Steel Corporation presented scholarship awards to Branislava Milinkovic from Sabac, a student of Electrical Engineering Faculty whose father Slobodan Milinkovic works in Tin Mill and Mikica Lazic from Smederevo, a student of Metallurgy Faculty in Belgrade, the son of Radica Lazic. For this upcoming school year 2008/2009, U. S. Steel Serbia will offer 6 scholarships to employees’ sons and daughters. The value of the scholarship is going to be a one time award of 1, 000.00 EUR. By these scholarships the company wants to assist families of employees of U. S. Steel Serbia (sons/daughters include natural children, step-children, legally adopted children and legal guardianship). Every son and daughter of active and full-time employees of U. S. Steel Serbia will be eligible to apply for scholarship. One of the changes to the program this year is that first, second, third and fourth year students will be eligible to apply. New thing is that students of the finishing year of studies will be eligible to apply. Students studying in the faculties of Engineering, Metallurgy, Mechanical faculty, as well as Accounting and Finance and Law will be given priority, but all students are encouraged to apply. This contest will be officially open on May 20. Applications must be received no later than July 15, 2008 for consideration. Applications received after July 15, 2008 is not going to be considered. Application forms will be available on the U. S. Steel Serbia internet and Public Affairs Web Page, as well as they will be available in the office of assistant of Legal and General Affairs Department, room 13 V, Dynasty Building. The applications, with letter of interest and the average mark or the marks from the high school should be sent. Papers must be translated and sealed by the faculty. Students, who have been awarded, should bring copies, and pupils who intend to inscribe a faculty – should send diploma of secondary school. Applications must be sent to Renee Shaffer, Room 15b, Dynasty Building or can be emailed on rmshaffer@cs.uss.com. After the closing deadline, all applications will be submitted to the selection committee which was established last year at University of Belgrade. They will evaluate the applications and choose recipients. The ceremony will be held in the University Library in Belgrade and awards will be announced on September 15. If the recipient fails to attend full time or is suspended by his/her college for academic or disciplinary reasons, the scholarship will be withdrawn. This year, the Scholarship program will provide a one time and will not be renewed on a yearly basis. For instance, someone who receives a scholarship this year does not mean that he/she will have priority next year. These students will have to repeat the application process. Since 1995, there has been a tradition of awarding Scholarships within United States Steel Corporation, since 2004 within U. S. Steel Kosice, and in 2007 in U. S. Steel Serbia. U. S.
